Startups are the result of cultural evolution that we have been going through at this period of time. Government is there to prepare a policy framework for the economy, but it can’t produce jobs for everyone. Startups can generate a large number of employment in India. Only a business can create employment in India and doing business is not a part of governance.
Today, we see that the union government is strongly supporting startup ecosystem through Startup India initiative where entrepreneurs get all the types of support to start a business. Startups are not just about IT, it beyond software.
A startup is more about looking things differently, solving problems and improve consumer experience. Democracy is a mass movement of people that is as mature as its citizens. It’s easy to debate problems but hard to find solutions.
Government has no brain of its own, it is a representative of public mindset. The .com bubble was not planned by the US government, it progressed eventually with the social liberty. Recent tax reforms will encourage startups and MNCs to invest and expand in India.
The young people need to stay away from the false narrative, negativism. Government’s primary role is the policy reform & execution, it can not infuse entrepreneurial spirit into market that comes from within when the people are ready for change.
An open market is like a substance in space, it keeps floating, there is no high point or low point, no specific direction to go but it keeps moving. It’s hard to judge the Indian economy from a western point of view. India has a different set of resources, unique consumer requirements. One can experience democracy but can’t predict.
Consumer awareness can support employment in India
What do you think first, when you make a purchase? Is it price, quality or brand!! A large number of Indian consumers are the victims of marketing campaigns. How many of you care to research about the origin of products? – it’s possible that the most of your purchases are imported to India, this means you are creating jobs in foreign countries, not in India.
If you spend 1000 rupees on a product or service that should help fellow Indians, not a single rupee should go outside of India. All Indians should be a part of Make In India movement. Make In India is not limited to manufacturing goods in India, but we want startups to make for India.
How startups create jobs in India?
India is a country full of opportunities. Consumers are ready to spend money if they get needful products and services. As an entrepreneur one needs capture business possiblities. Today, people are paying for online food orders because it’s convenient, who would have thought about this 10 year back!!
Startup has to be a win-win game for both sides, the owner and users. Sometimes you can save big by paying a small amount.

We see debates of agriculture crises, they debate problems, but rarely suggest solutions while the sole purpose of debate should sighting solutions at conclusion. Agricultural sector is the largest employer in India I wonder why nobody talks about agricultural startups.
Why should startups be limited to Coffee & Tea? Agricultural startups are eco-friendly which solves many environmental issues. We should use organic products, and how easily we have forgotten the practices of Ayurveda. People are ready to eat, apply and breathe chemicals, this should change.
Rather than artificial ingredients, it’s better to eat and drink natural. Agricultur sector offers a lot of potential for young minds to explore without limit. I believe agricultural startups will facilitate even more employment in India.

Health is a combination of physical & mental balance. Lifestyle directly affects your health. We see startups that address public health, but healthcare startups are still developing in mega cities. Upcoming day should bring these startups to midsize cites and towns.
Travel & Accomodation Startups
India is an emerging destination in global map, the world is eager to know more about India. Tourism is the fastest way to create jobs, Indian government has been promoting tourism through Incredible India campaign. Indian heritage tourism is something which continues to attract visitors.
India is the land of art & spirituality. The country has so much to offer, and most of it has not been explored fully. India has always been an attraction for the travellers, merchants around the world.
Food Startups
Indians are foodies, not easy for an entrepreneur to fail on the food startups. We do see the different types of cafe & restaurants that offer a mixture of Indo-European dishes. The young population usually look to try new places, an that what you give to them. Entrepreneur should look out for opportunities in smaller cities.
