For the moment sit back and think, how things would have been in India without IT revolution? I know it’s hard to imagine because it had to happen! Now, things have to move forward when we talk about Digital India in 2019. India is one of the largest smartphone consumer market. Today, smartphones are more than affordable for an average user.
The foundation of Digital India
Last 5 years we have seen unprecedented changes in the life of citizens. Making life easier, that was the primary goal of Digital India. The internet is a part of everyday life, and now it’s largely accessible from remote locations across India. Thanks to affordable hardware & data plans!
The generations of Digital India
3G was accessible in India almost after a decade of 21st century, it was largely popular for speed, but 3G was very expensive. The things changed dramatically with Reliance Jio’s entry in high-speed 4G, virtually there was no competition. Jio was offering free high-speed data & voice calling on trial basis. Jio’s 4G data plan cost was much more cheaper than 3G plans, this triggered war within telecom sector, it was more like the battle for survival. The other telecom operators had no choice, but to offer affordable high-speed internet. In the end, that was all needed to push Digital India forward.
Today, we are expanding fiber internet connectivity. Govt’s plan is to provide the internet access beyond cities, it should not expand to small villages and beyond.
Citizen Connect
Digital India initiative has helped to build a stronger communication bridge between the citizens and government. Now, it’s easy for a citizen to convey ideas to the government. Interactive digital communication helps union cabinet to take decisions collectively.
Digital India is an essence of democracy which rejuvenates India. India is using internet for social & economic growth, and that sets us apart from the world.
Prime Minister’s extraordinary outreach through digital India attracts young population. The youth has been participating in government initiatives, and they don’t hesitate to share their views about it.
There is a lot more to talk about Digital trends that we shall continue.
